This session brings together three of our best-loved authors, Katherine Johnson, Karen Viggers and Katherine Scholes, who will be discussing how they go about animating narratives and converting facts to fiction.
Katherine Johnson, novelist and science journalist, has published four beautifully written and haunting novels set in Tasmania and the Southern Ocean – Matryoshka, The Better Son, Pescador’s Wake, and Paris Savages.
Like Katherine, Karen Viggers knows her science. A wildlife veterinarian in her other life, Karen’s work explores peoples’ connections with nature, grief, healing and human relationships. She is the author of four novels: The Stranding, The Lightkeeper’s Wife, The Grass Castle and The Orchardist’s Daughter.
Katherine Scholes is a novelist, award winning documentary film maker and also author of ‘Peacetime’ a non-fiction children’s book which has been used in conflict resolution workshops in America and was published in special edition by the Education Department of Japan. Her other works include several international bestsellers: The Rain Queen, Make Me An Idol, The Stone Angel, The Hunter’s Wife, The Lioness and The Perfect Wife.
This session will be held on Sunday morning, the 15th of September, at Hadley’s Orient Hotel. Tickets can be obtained here.
