Two full days of free children’s events will take place throughout the Festival. The schedule is below.

Where? Parliament Gardens – the lawns in front of Parliament House, near Salamanca Place. Look for our children’s events marquee.

Saturday 9th October 2021

10:00 – 10:30 Lian Tanner reading from A Clue for Clara.

10:30 -11:00  Alyssa Curtayne Fairy Tales for Kids yoga! (Come and find out.)

11:00 – 11:30 Anne Morgan map making and reading from her Captain Clawbeak series

11:30 – 12:00 Alyssa Curtayne Fairy Tales for Kids – oral storytelling.

12:00 – 12:30 Christina Booth reading from her published works.

12:30 -1:00 Coral Tulloch reading from her published works.

1:00 – 1:30 Fiona Levings reading Now and Then.

1:30 – 2:00 Alyssa Bermudez Big Apple Diaries comic workshop.

2:00 – 2:30 Carol Ann Martin reading from Wodge and Friends: The Mystery in the Garden.

2:30 – 3:30 Vaishnavi Chetlapalli Storytelling through Indian dance – a workshop for all ages. No experience necessary!

The Way of the Weedy Seadragon, reading by Anne Morgan at the Maritime Museum.

Island of Curiosities – Coral Tulloch, Christina Booth, Anne Morgan and Nicole Gill discuss environmental children’s literature in Tasmania, chaired by Fiona Levings.

A Picture Saves a Thousand Words – Joshua Santospirito, Jacki Naqvi and Alyssa Bermudez on graphic novels.

Children’s Book Creators’ Networking Event – Free for SCBWI members but tickets are required for COVID-19 tracing. All welcome – $7.50 for non-members. Includes nibblies.
