Annalise Rees

Annalise Rees is curator at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania. She is also an artist and educator with expertise in drawing and place-based research. Annalise has undertaken numerous residencies across Australia and abroad. Coming to Tasmania specifically to follow her maritime interests, Annalise spent months at sea with fishers and scientists, exploring how the marine environment influences human perception. Working with the collection at the Maritime Museum, Annalise enjoys presenting opportunities for audiences to engage with Tasmania’s unique maritime history and heritage contributing to a shared and ongoing conversation about the influence of ‘maritime’ upon human culture and society.
